Business Development Manager
The Business Development Manager will drive revenue growth across Codiance’s public sector portfolio, with a focus on Local Authorities, Higher Education institutions, and Housing Associations (Tier 2).
The role is primarily responsible for creating and shaping new opportunities ahead of formal procurement, finding short-term opportunities outside of formal tenders. The role will also support the development of strategic partnerships and framework-based opportunities to enable access to larger and more complex public sector programmes (Tier 1)
Your core objectives will be:
- Generate qualified, influenced new business opportunities within Tier 2 public sector
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships that position Codiance as a trusted partner
- Grow revenue from existing public sector clients through strategic account management growth
- Increase Codiance’s visibility and success within Tier 1 public sector frameworks and partner-led bids.
This is a 5 day per week remote or hybrid role, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are Codiance office working days.
Meetings/events with clients or networking that are face to face, to be managed and attended on any working day, Monday to Friday.
Commission Structure to be communicated.
Duties and responsibilities
Essential
- Develop and maintain relationships with senior decision makers across target sectors.
- Generate new business opportunities through pre-procurement engagement, direct awards and framework call-offs.
- Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline to achieve revenue growth targets.
- Represent Codiance through networking, events and business development activities.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, opportunity tracking and account plans.
Desirable
- Develop and manage strategic partner relationships.
- Support Codiance's positioning on frameworks such as G-Cloud and DOS.
- Contribute to bid, proposal and tender activities.
- Support marketing and thought leadership initiatives to generate opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client and partner relationships.
Technical competencies
Essential
- Consultative and solution-based sales techniques.
- Senior stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
- Pipeline development, opportunity qualification and sales forecasting.
- CRM management and reporting.
- Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and communication skills.

- Knowledge of UK public sector procurement processes.
- Experience working with government frameworks such as G-Cloud and DOS.
- Understanding of digital transformation and technology services.
- Partnership and channel development capabilities.
- Bid writing and tender support experience.
Experience and qualifications

- Proven success in a business development or sales role.
- Experience engaging with senior-level decision makers.
- Demonstrable achievement of revenue and growth targets.
- Experience managing opportunities from prospecting through to contract award.
- Experience using CRM systems and producing pipeline and forecast reports.

- Experience selling digital, technology or consultancy services.

- Experience securing business through frameworks, direct awards or pre-procurement engagement.
